AGAPE

There’s some real shit people in the world but we all know that. Hey you might even be one of them. From that falsely successful kid on instagram saying “If you didn’t invest, learn a new skill, or blah blah blah” the befuddled rant continues. To those “so what can you do for me people.” It’s real easy to get in a hole of what the hell is wrong with the world. It’s just as easy, in my opinion, to find another one filled with the kind hearts that also live in it.

According to Greek philosophers, there’s 7 types of love but my personal favorite is Agape. Yes I might of learned about this from a New York Life Insurance commercial but that’s besides the point. Agape has different interpretations but truly represents selfless love. This is the love that you have for people, the world, a higher power. This is pure love shown in action without request or agenda. Some might say I’m overly optimistic and by some I mean my mom. I like to know the worst but hope for the best. From smiling at that stranger on the street, giving the guy on the highway some change, or just doing good things for people because I can. I feel like kindness is such a powerful but overlooked thing.

In most businesses people tell you to look out for yourself but don’t step on toes. Go and get yours cause no ones gonna give it to you but don’t burn bridges in the process. A little confusing don’t you think. I’m someone who is blunt, speaks their mind, but doesn’t like to push people. As you can see I’m quite the confusion myself. With the turning tides of the world we’re currently living in, I feel like we should all tap into our Agape. Instead of boasting about yourself and making others feel less than because they weren’t as “productive” as you. How about we help people that might be a little lost. Instead of the ominous “I became successful because of these 3 imperative things” but when you click that link all it’s telling you is a whole lot of nothing. Let’s give people a more clear blueprint of what we’ve tried to do, what failed during that, what worked, and how they can do that for themselves.

At the end of the day we’re all just people trying to do our best. We were all drooling on ourselves at one point and now have insane insurance plans to pay for but that could just be me. If we could all just take a step back, look at the sky, and understand the pure beauty of existence. The pure love of being allowed to live within this world. The Agape that you experience everyday but might not even know. Then maybe there’s some hope after all.

Since I already talk a mile a minute, have the most random ideas, and am trying to figure out who I am. Why not bring the public into it? Here’s my open book!
